I am a technical founder and product leader focused on AI Safety.
I am studying AI Safety via BlueDot coursework, and have practiced tech policy via the Aspen Policy Academy.
I am building unarxiv.org, an repo of audio-narrated arxiv.org papers.
I product prototypes via the Simuna Product Lab and advise startups.
I believe the human species needs a serious technological upgrade to our ability to coordinate if we are to create flourishing in the face of our rapidly-changing and uncertain future.
I served as the VP of Product of DrChrono, a maker of med-tech software (PM/EHR) used by nearly 5,000 medical practices.
I led a startup-within-a-startup at RadicleScience designing and iterating on a new SaaS product with pilot customers.
I co-founded Crohnology (YC 12), where I built the largest (in its time) Crohn’s & Colitis health-tracking community on the web, which was then integrated and expanded into IBDPartners, and has become the leading decentralized clinical research platform in IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). The data from this network has resulted in 100+ published medical research papers by over 51+ independent research institutions.
I co-founded MessageParty (YC S10), where I built a mobile messaging app that allowed users to chat with those physically near them.
A major theme of my work has been unlocking the power of data for research.
In the mid-2010s, I had 5 minutes of fame on national TV covering my Crohn’s Disease self-experimentation, and was interviewed/covered in many podcasts, articles, and mini-documentaries. I’ve published in peer-reviewed medical journals. See this coverage and read the articles.
I gave a talk at the very first Quantified Self Conference in 2011 on my self-experimentation in Crohn’s Disease.
